SBI offers a handsome salary package as compared to other nationalized banks of India. Besides basic salary there are four additional increments which are given at initial stage to the officers. These are
  1. Dearness Allowance,
  2. House Rent Allowance,
  3. Special allowance on the basic pay and
  4. City Compensatory Allowance as an employee of the bank.
2. Providing Contributory Provident Fund:
Probationary Officers and other employees are given the benefit of Contributory Provident Fund by the bank. This contribution is 10 per cent of the basic salary drawn by the employee which is given on monthly basis.

3. Lease Facility:
SBI POs are entitled for lease accommodation in the place of their respective posting. In case one avails lease accommodation then HRA component is not credited to the employee’s salary package. Lease rental ceiling is very handsome and highest among all the other nationalized banks. SBI pays around Rs. 35000/- for lease accommodation in Metro cities. This facility is not given to the SBI Clerks.

 4. Job Privileges:
SBI POs are eligible for various privileges besides salary these are newspaper allowance, petrol allowance, entertainment allowance, house maintenance allowance, books and magazine allowance, briefcase allowance, reimbursement of telephone bills etc. The gross total of all these benefits comes around 6000/- monthly.

 5. Medical reimbursement:
SBI provides unmatched medical reimbursement to its employees than other nationalized banks. There is a provision of 100 per cent reimbursement for the treatment of the employees and 75 per cent is reimbursed in case the treatment for the dependent of employees is done.

 6. Home Travel Allowance / Leave Fare Allowance
Officers are entitled for leave fare allowance or leave fare allowance which can be availed once in 2 or 4 years depending upon the Grade or scale they are holding.

7. Loans at concessional rate of interest
SBI employees are given loan facility under staff scheme. It is provided at a very concessional rate of interest for various purposes such as housing, car, etc.
